2016 DiabetesMine Patient Voices Contest

Are you interested in attending the 2016 DiabetesMine Innovation Summit in Palo Alto, California, on a full scholarship? Then be sure to participate in this year’s “Patient Voices Contest.”

In an effort to ensure that the voices of people with diabetes are heard by the “Powers That Be,” the site is asking readers to share their best diabetes mentoring tips, along with filling out a standard application form, for the opportunity to lend their voices at this year’s Summit. The tips should address one or two of the biggest challenges in living with diabetes in areas such as exercise, nutrition, disease education, psychological/social support, devices/tools and data, or empowerment, along with strategies on how to cope. Videos, images, and other visual materials can be submitted along with the application to help illustrate the mentoring tips.

The contest is open to anyone 16 or older by October 25, 2016, who is living with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes or caring for a child with diabetes. The top entrants as selected by the DiabetesMine team will receive a scholarship — covering airfare, two nights in a hotel, and meals — to attend the 2016 DiabetesMine Innovation Summit at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California (taking place on Friday, October 28, 2016), where they will act as delegates for the diabetes community. They will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from pharmaceutical companies, regulatory agents, clinicians, health insurance executives, advocacy organizations, entrepreneurs, and more.

Entries will be accepted until May 23 at 5 PM PST, with winners being announced at the end of June. Full instructions for submission are available on DiabetesMine.
