We’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate our friends over at Team Type 1 for their incredible achievement at last weekend’s 2012 TD Bank Philadelphia International Cycling Championship. With more than 150 of the top professional male riders in the world competing in the 124-mile race, members of Team Type 1 took the first, second, and fourth spots, and also claimed the King of the Mountains jersey (awarded to the competitor who earns the most points at designated spots along climbs in the race).
The Team Type 1 men’s professional cycling team includes a number of athletes with Type 1 diabetes. To learn more the organization, visit the Team Type 1 Web site. And to read about what it’s like to be a member of the team, check out our series of blog entries by professional cyclist Joe Eldridge.
