Diabetes Art Day

Text Size:

Feeling creative? Then why not bust out some art supplies and make a piece for the third annual Diabetes Art Day, coming up on September 24!

Diabetes Art Day was founded in 2010 by Lee Ann Thill, an art therapist living with Type 1 diabetes, to encourage people with diabetes (and their families) to communicate their experiences with the condition, to help people connect, and to raise awareness of diabetes. Over 80 people participated the first year, with involvement more than doubling to 170 people in 2011.

Once you’ve made something, head over here for instructions on how to upload an image of your work. The pieces that have been contributed will be shared on the 2012 gallery.

Don’t have enough time to submit a piece for 2012? Well, the next Diabetes Art Day is just around the corner, on February 4, 2013. So get those creative juices flowing and make some art!
