Diabetes Ideas Challenge

Text Size:

Have an idea for improving the way insulin is currently administered? Now’s your chance to bring it one step closer to reality!

Manufacturer Sanofi US has launched “Ignited: The Diabetes Ideas Challenge” in an effort to “develop more innovative, easy to use, and cost-effective ways to deliver insulin treatment to people living with diabetes.” The challenge asks participants to share their best ideas for a method of insulin delivery that is both accessible to a wide audience — young and old, those with impaired vision, and so on — and easily integrated into daily life. The concept should also satisfy the requirements of being accurate, durable, disposable, able to stay functional for extended periods without electricity, and able to store more than one dose per device.

Submissions can include a text description of up to 250 words and a visual representation of the concept (files cannot exceed 1 MB). The challenge is open through May 10. Results will be announced on May 30, with 10 winners receiving $5,000 each.

For complete rules, and to enter, visit the official challenge Web site.
