Earlier in the year, we wrote about the upcoming Diabetes UnConference, a peer-to-peer support conference that “allows participants to create and moderate the agenda, allowing for a wide variety of topics and viewpoints that might never be covered in a traditional conference.” For those who are interested in attending the event, taking place from March 13—15, 2015 at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, but unable to afford the associated expenses, there are now a number of scholarships available.
The Medicare Recipient Scholarship (available to people with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes who are on Medicare), Type 1 Scholarship, and Type 2 Scholarship are available to people in the continental United States and cover air travel to and from Las Vegas, the Diabetes UnConference registration fee, and a two-night stay at The Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The two available room scholarships are available to those already registered for the event and staying for the entire conference and cover a two-night stay the The Flamingo Las Vegas.
The deadline to apply is September 30, 2014. For more information, and to submit an application, visit the scholarship page of the Diabetes Unconference website.
