Free “Diabetes Alert” Auto Stickers

Text Size:

Do you live in Tennessee and have diabetes? Then you may be interested in a free program called “Diabetes Alert.”

High and low blood glucose can cause symptoms that may be mistaken for intoxication, including dizziness, difficulty speaking, belligerence, and blurred vision. The Diabetes Alert program provides free stickers to people with diabetes to use on their vehicles alerting law enforcement and emergency personnel to the possibility of a diabetes-related health emergency.

The prescription-only stickers, which are placed on the lower, inside left corner of the driver’s side rear window, include the words “Diabetes Alert” and the logo of a participating hospital or health system.

To learn more about how to obtain a Diabetes Alert sticker, visit the Diabetes Alert website. And for a list of participating hospitals and health systems, click here.
