Researchers Seek Women With Type 1 for International Study

If you have Type 1 diabetes and are in your first trimester of pregnancy or are planning to become pregnant, researchers at the Sansum Diabetes Research Institute want to hear from you.

In a trial known as CONCEPTt, Drs. Lois Jovanovic and Denice Fieg are aiming to determine whether adding continuous glucose monitoring to standard diabetes treatment can help pregnant women with Type 1 keep their blood glucose levels as normal as possible and avoid complications with the baby. The study is designed to look at the effectiveness of continuous glucose monitoring both before and during pregnancy.

The trial is sponsored by JDRF and the Ontario and Canadian governments.
