If you have Type 2 diabetes and live in the Camden, New Jersey, area, you may be interested in volunteering for research being conducted by the Relationships, Health, and Aging Lab at Rutgers University.
The study will examine “how family, friends, and health-care providers are involved in diabetes management.” The researchers are seeking participants who are 45 years old or older, have been diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes by a health-care provider, and are regularly seeing a health-care provider for diabetes care.
Participation will involve two short, self-administered questionnaires and an in-person interview at a location most convenient for the volunteer (such as at home or at the lab on the Rutgers-Camden campus). The researchers hope the results from the study will help inform interventions that are designed to help people successfully manage their diabetes.
Participants will receive $20 for two hours of their time and will be entered into a drawing to receive an additional $100.
For more information about the study, contact Dr. Kristin August at (856) 225-6784 or kristin.august@camden.rutgers.edu.
