Take Part in the Big Blue Test!

Text Size:

American Diabetes Month is right around the corner, which can only mean one thing — the Big Blue Test website will soon be open for entries!

Established by the Diabetes Hands Foundation in 2009, the Big Blue Test is a way to raise funds for people with diabetes in need while simultaneously reminding people with diabetes of the importance of staying active.

To participate in the Big Blue Test, check your blood glucose. (Those without diabetes can skip this step.) Then, for 14 to 20 minutes, engage in some sort of physical activity — anything from cleaning the house to swimming laps to tap dancing works! Once you’ve finished exercising, check your blood glucose again. Finally, share your results on the Big Blue Test website. (According to the official website, participants see their blood glucose levels drop by 20%, on average.)

Every entry received between October 20 and November 19 will trigger a donation to help people with diabetes in need around the world receive “life-saving supplies, services, and education.”
