“This Week I Will” Pledge Campaign

Text Size:

It’s often said that the best way to make a big change is to break it down into smaller pieces. And one way you can increase the chances of sticking with your smaller goal — while at the same time raising funds to make a difference in the diabetes community — is by making a pledge with Amylin Pharmaceuticals’ “This Week I Will” campaign.

Adults with Type 2 diabetes who choose to commit to one of 10 small, health-oriented steps for a week, from “substitut[ing] fruit for dessert or sweets” to “taking the stairs instead of the elevator,” will receive an e-mail with tips on sticking to their weekly health pledge. Additionally, for each pledge made, Amylin will donate $5 to one of four diabetes charities (the Diabetes Hands Foundation, the Behavioral Diabetes Institute, Diabetes Sisters, or the American Diabetes Association—Alabama/Mississippi), for a total of up to $25,000 each (grand total of up to $100,000).

“For adults with type 2 diabetes, even an ordinary week demands extraordinary effort. The good news is that even small changes — like those encouraged in This Week I Will — can add up to better diabetes management,” noted David Maggs, MD, vice president, medical research and development, Amylin Pharmaceuticals.
